Yuriy Mikhailovich Shkodovsky (born November 16, 1947 , Novaya Vodolaga ) - architect , candidate of architecture (2001), professor, honored architect of Ukraine ( 1997 ), laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of architecture ( 2001 ), people's architect of Ukraine ( 2004 ; honorary title ) The chief architect of Kharkov (1994-2001), the rector of the Kharkov University of Construction and Architecture [1] .

Biography
Yuri Mikhailovich Shkodovsky was born on November 16, 1947 in the village of Novaya Vodolaga . In 1971 he graduated from the Kharkov Civil Engineering Institute. From 1965 to 1983 he worked at the Ukrgorstroyproekt Institute. From 1983 to 1994, he was deputy head of the Main Architectural and Planning Directorate of the Kharkov City Executive Committee.
From 1994 to 1998, he was deputy head of the Main Directorate of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Kharkov City Executive Committee. At the same time, from 1994 to 2001 he was the chief architect of Kharkov and from 1998 to 2001 he was the head of the department of urban planning and architecture of the Kharkov City Council. Subsequently, since 2001, he became the head of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
Since 2008, he is the Acting Rector of the Kharkov University of Construction and Architecture . Since 2011, the rector and head of the department of urban studies of the Kharkov National University of Construction and Architecture [2] .
