Biography
Born in Astrakhan. Armenian by origin [1] . A relative of the prima Mariinsky Theater [2] .
He studied at the Astrakhan gymnasium, after which he graduated from the Institute of Civil Engineers (1901) [1] .
Since 1911 he worked as the Chief Engineer of the Baku City Council [3] . During this period, he built a number of buildings in Baku, including the Azerbaijan Opera and Ballet Theater (formerly the Mailov Brothers Theater), Sabunchi Station, a residential quarter in the district of Armenikend and other buildings [4] .
Since 1927 he moved to Yerevan and worked as the head of Armselstroy. The author of more than 200 buildings, including Yerevan State Bank, Ararat Trust, and the Ministry of Justice [1] . Member of the Union of Architects (1942) [1] [5] . Awarded the certificate of honor of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Armenian SSR (1945).
