Old Lyme ( eng. Old Lyme ) is a city located in the district of New London ( Connecticut , USA ). Named after the English city of Lyme Regis .

Content
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has an area of 28.8 square miles (75 km²), of which 23.1 square miles (60 km²) is land and 5.7 square miles (15 km²) is a water surface of 19 85% of the total area. It has a relatively mild, humid subtropical climate. For a long time the city was a popular summer resort and a colony of artists.
History
The city houses the headquarters of Sennheiser , Callaway Cars , the Lime Academy College of Fine Arts and the Florence Griswold Museum .
In 1899, the American artist Henry Ranger formed a famous artistic colony here , where the impressionists lived and worked.
In 1975, tick-borne borreliosis, also known as Lyme disease , was diagnosed for the first time in world medical practice among residents of Old-Lyme.
