He made his debut in the professional ring on March 1, 2003, having won by technical knockout in the 1st round [1] .
Championship fight with Isaac Hlatshwayo
December 11, 2009 met with IBF Welterweight World Champion South African Isaac Hlatshvayo . Zawek knocked out his opponent already in the 3rd round and became the new world champion [2] [3] .
Title Defenses
April 9, 2010 defeated the Argentine Rodolfo Martinez by technical knockout in the 12th round [4] [5] .
September 4, 2010 won on points Pole Rafal Yatskevich [6] [7] .
February 18, 2011, knocked out in the 5th round of Paul Delgado from Cape Verde [8] [9] .
Losing a title in a fight with Andre Berto
September 3, 2011 defended his league title in a fight with American Andre Berto . After the 5th round, Zavek's team refused to continue the fight due to strong cuts in their athlete [10] [11] [12] .
On March 9, 2013, he met unbeaten American Keith Thurman in a duel for the title of mandatory contender for the WBO welterweight world title. The fight lasted all 12 rounds. The judges unanimously gave victory to Thurman with a score of 120-108 (all) [13] [14] .
