Biography

Mikhail Vasilievich Maslov was born into a peasant family in the village of Maltsevo, Pilninsky volost, Kurmysh district, Simbirsk province (currently Pilninsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region ). In 1929 he graduated from 7 classes of the school. He lived in the city of Guryevsk, Kemerovo region , worked as a driver at a motor transport enterprise. In 1931-1934 he served in the ranks of the Red Army .

In June 1941, the Guryev Military Commissariat was again drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. Since July 1941, on the fronts of World War II .

By order of the 56th Guards Cavalry Regiment dated March 8, 1943, Guard Sergeant Maslov for courage and heroism in the battles against Nazi invaders, as well as for repelling an enemy tank attack on February 14, 1943 and destroying machine-gun crew on February 24, 1943, he was awarded the medal "For Courage" .

In the battle on January 10, 1944, in the village of Prudok, 10 km west of Mazyr’s guard, Petty Officer Maslov repelled a counterattack under heavy enemy fire. He allowed the enemy to a distance of accurate shooting and opened destructive dagger fire. The enemy, throwing his wounded and killed soldiers on the battlefield, did not make more counterattack attempts in this direction. When trying to get around Maslov’s position, the enemy fell under the fire of other machine guns. In this battle, he destroyed 1 enemy firing point and destroyed and wounded about 20 enemy soldiers. By order of the 14th Guards Cavalry Division of March 26, 1944, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

On April 15, 1944, during an air raid of Yu-87 bombers on a guarded guard facility, Petty Officer Maslov shot down one aircraft with the precision fire of a DShK machine gun and scattered the rest, forcing them to drop bombs away from the object. By order of the 7th Guards Cavalry Corps of June 28, 1944, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star .

During the battles for the city of Lublin in Poland on July 23-27, 1944, the foreman Maslov destroyed 50 enemy soldiers and officers, and captured 18.
On July 23, with the fire of his machine gun, he destroyed 15 enemy soldiers and put down one machine gun.
On July 24, he destroyed 10 enemy soldiers with machine-gun fire, and when the enemy approached a strong point, he boldly rushed forward and destroyed 4 enemy soldiers with personal weapon fire, 8 soldiers were captured.
When occupying an artillery depot on the outskirts of Lublin, Maslov destroyed 9 enemy soldiers, 10 captured.
In battles for the city of Krasnik , 49 km southwest of Lublin, on July 27, he destroyed 12 enemy soldiers with his machine gun fire and crushed 2 machine gun points.
By order on the 1st Belorussian Front of September 21, 1944, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

In the battles for the city of Lodz on January 18, 1945, the foreman Maslov Maslov killed 15 enemy soldiers and officers with machine gun fire, knocked out 2 vehicles and crushed 2 machine guns.
In the battles for the city of Kalish on January 25, 1945, he destroyed 10 enemy soldiers, knocked out an armored personnel carrier and destroyed 3 enemy machine guns.
By order of the 7th Guards Cavalry Corps of March 31, 1945, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree .

On January 29, 1945, as part of the 3rd squadron of the 56th Guards Cavalry Regiment, the foreman Maslov crossed the Oder River. The enemy launched several counterattacks, trying to throw cavalry units into the river. Maslov advanced in battle squadron and machine-gun fought off all these counterattacks, destroying up to 50 enemy soldiers and officers and suppressing 4 machine guns.
On January 30, 1945, the enemy launched new attacks on the unit. Maslov himself lay down behind a machine gun and began to shoot enemy soldiers, destroying 30 soldiers and repelling 2 counterattacks. When the ammunition ran out, he continued to fight with personal weapons and withdrew only by order of the commander. He was presented for the award of the Order of the Red Banner . By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 31, 1945, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.

Guard Petty Officer Maslov was demobilized in 1945. He lived in the city of Guryevsk. He worked at a trucking company. Then he lived in the village of the Granit railway station in Toguchinsky district of the Novosibirsk region .

Mikhail Vasilyevich Maslov died on September 18, 1980.

Memory
