Hespitsen ( French Geispitzen ) - a commune in the north-east of France in the Grand Est region ^[1] (former Alsace - Champagne - Ardennes - Lorraine ), department of the Upper Rhine , Mulhouse district , canton of Brenstat ^[2] . Until March 2015, the commune was administratively part of the abolished canton of Sirens (Mulhouse County).

The commune is located at a distance of about 400 km east of Paris , 100 km south of Strasbourg and 50 km south of Colmar ^[3] .

The area of the commune is 6.02 km², the population is 412 people ^[4] ^[5] (2006) with a tendency to stabilize: 429 people ^[6] (2012), the population density is 71.3 people / km².

In 2010, out of 283 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years), 220 were economically active , 63 inactive (activity indicator 77.7%, in 1999 - 71.3%).
