Price center

The price center has the same two-layer structure as the colony zooids and single polyps. It consists of two epithelia ( epidermis and gastrodermis ) and mesoglya located between them - the connective tissue basal lamina .

Cenosarc of hydroid polyps

The price range of branching hydroid colonies is covered with chitinous cuticle ( perisarcum ). In it is located the digestive system branching with the colony body, connected to the digestive cavities of all zooids. She has her own muscles and is capable of peristaltic contractions. The function of this system is the distribution of nutrients in the colony. It has been shown that the currents in the digestive system are organized in such a way that those zooids who are not able to feed on their own supply food: developing hydrants (trophic zooids) and gonostyles (zooids on which the kidneys of the medusoid generation develop).

Coral Polyps

The coeno -polyp cenosarc is a soft tissue covering the common calcareous skeleton of the colony - coenchyme .

In contrast to the hydroid coenosarca , which is a tubular structure, in coral polyps it is composed of two plates: external ( oral ) and internal ( aboral ). The first surrounds the mouth, the second forms the sole, both consist of the epidermis, mesogley and gastroderma. Between these plates is a digestive cavity lined with gastrodermis and communicating with the digestive cavities of zooids. This cavity can be partitioned into channels. In some representatives, the cenosarck penetrates through the channels formed by the aboral plate, the calcareous skeleton of the colony (the so-called porous coenchyme ).
