Natalia Dmitrievna Kasatkina ( June 7, 1934 , Moscow ) - ballet dancer and choreographer, characteristic soloist of the Bolshoi Theater in 1954-1976. Biography
Natalia Dmitrievna Kasatkina was born on June 7, 1934 in Moscow to the family of the engineer D. A. Kasatkin, a representative of the famous Moscow merchant family, and the children's writer Anna Kardashova . In 1953 she graduated from the Moscow Choreographic School (teacher Shulamith Messerer ). In 1954-1976 - soloist of the Bolshoi Ballet . Performed characteristic dances in the ballets Swan Lake , Raymonda , Cinderella , Don Quixote , Sacred Spring , Carmen Suite .
Since the 1960s, he has been working as a choreographer, staging performances with her husband, Vladimir Vasilyev . At the time of the thaw in 1965 , the first of the directors in the USSR turned to the music of Igor Stravinsky , putting his " Holy Spring " in the Bolshoi Theater.
In 1977 she was appointed chief choreographer of the concert ensemble “Classical Ballet”. Since then, Kasatkina and Vasilyev have been the permanent artistic directors of this troupe, which since 1992 has been called the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture "The State Academic Theater of Classical Ballet under the direction of Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasilyov .
