Biography
Agnes was supposedly the daughter of Duke Guillaume VI or Guillaume VII and, possibly after the death of Ramiro I, became the wife of Count Pierre of Savoy .
After the death of Ermesinda of Bigor, Ramiro I of Aragon entered into marriage with Agnes. It is believed that Agnes survived her husband, who died on May 8, 1063 . In the marriage, the couple spent about ten years and had no children. The name “Agnessa” was often used in the family of the Aquitaine dukes, moreover, Aragonese and Aquitans often entered into marriage unions, so the precise genealogy of Agnes is still unknown. Both Guillaume VI and Guillaume VII were proposed as her possible fathers. Pierre I of Savoy married “Agnes, daughter of Guillaume Poitier,” and it is believed that this widow was precisely the widowed wife of Ramiro I [1] . If so, then Agnes had to marry Ramiro at a very young age, which may explain her lack of children from Ramiro.
