Vasily Grigoryevich Kuznetsov ( 1917 - 2004 ) - Soviet agricultural worker, director of the Kalininsky state farm of the Kalinin district of the Kalinin region, Hero of Socialist Labor (1971).

Biography
Born on August 2, 1917 in the village of Zlobino, Kashinsky volost, Kimry district, Tver province , in a peasant family.
He remained an orphan at an early age: his father died during the Civil War , and his mother died when Vasily was two years old. [1] In 1925 he began to study at school, which he graduated from during the years of collectivization of the USSR . He continued his studies at an agricultural school in Karacharov in a group of livestock breeders. In 1933, Vasily received an agricultural specialty and was hired by the Pravda state farm in the Kashinsky district. In 1934 he continued his education at the Ryazan Zootechnical College, which he graduated in 1936 and, according to distribution, was assigned to the position of a zootechnician-breeder at the Krestinovo state farm in the Loknyansky district of the Kalinin Region (now Pskov ).
He served in the Red Army . Member of the Soviet-Finnish war , where he was wounded. He did not take part in the Great Patriotic War , he worked in the rear:
- in 1940-1941 he was the chief livestock specialist of the Podobino state farm of the Bezhetsky district of the Kalinin region;
- in 1942-1943 - the chief livestock specialist of the state farm “White Omut” of the Vyshnevolotsky district;
- in 1943-1955 - the chief livestock specialist of the state farm named after Lenin of the Torzhok district of the Kalinin region.
In 1955-1961, Vasily Grigorievich Kuznetsov was the director of the farm "Krasnoarmeets" now Staritsky district. Since 1961 - Director of the Kalininsky state farm in the Kalinin district of the Kalinin region, where he worked until 1995.
Then he was retired. He died on July 11, 2004 . [2] He was buried in Tver on the Walk of Fame of the Dmitrov-Cherkassky cemetery.
Rewards
- By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 8, 1971, for outstanding achievements in the development of agricultural production and the implementation of the five-year plan for the sale of agricultural and livestock products to the state, Vasily Grigoryevich Kuznetsov was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle gold medal.
- He was awarded the second Order of Lenin, orders of the October Revolution, the Red Banner of Labor, Friendship of Peoples and medals, including "For Labor Valor" and "For Valiant Labor".
- Also awarded the sign of the Tver region "For Merit in the Development of the Tver Region" (2002).
- Honored Worker of Agriculture of the Russian Federation . [3]
- Honorary citizen of the city of Tver (02.10.1997 - for his merits in providing the city residents with food and a great personal contribution to the development of the regional center).
