History
The first wooden church in the name of the Life-Giving Trinity appeared on Vyatka as early as the XIV century .
In 1677, with the active participation of the Archbishop Jona Sysoevich , the first stone church in the city was laid on the site of a wooden church on the territory. Masters invited to Hlynov conducted the construction. Construction completed in 1683. Here was the main shrine of the Vyatka land - the miraculous Velikoretsky image.
In the spring and summer of 1759, this temple, seriously damaged in numerous city fires, was dismantled.
The following summer, construction of a new cathedral began in the same place in the center of the Khlynovsky Kremlin, which lasted 12 years. Built by 1772, the new Holy Trinity Cathedral, which was attended by Dmitry Vasilyevich Ukhtomsky, head of the Moscow school of architecture, became a real miracle of baroque architecture .
The majestic building of the cathedral from the expressive, enormous height of the bell tower was clearly visible to all citizens and guests of the city, especially, who entered it from behind the river along the ancient Slobodskiy highway.
Demolished in 1931.
