It is located on the Podunai Upland, 10 km west of the administrative center of the Nitra region .
History
Velke Zaluzhie
The first written mention occurs in 1261. At the beginning of the 14th century it belonged to the Hungarian tycoon Matush Chuck . Previously included in the Transylvanian part of the Austrian Empire .
Population
As of December 31, 2014, 4,159 residents lived in the village, of which 99% were Slovaks, the rest were gypsies .
Attractions
- The ruins of the castle of the beginning of the XIX century, built on the foundation of a pre-existing defense structure.
- Catholic church of All Saints.
