Otomo no Otomaro ( Japanese大 伴 弟 麻 呂 or 大 大 乙 麻 呂; 727/731 ? - June 14 or July 14, 809 ) is a Japanese commander who lived in the Nara era and at the beginning of the Heian era . He was the first to be awarded the title of Sei-Taishogun . According to some sources, he was born in 727 . The son of Otomo no Koshibi .

Short Biography
- 731 year (?) - was born in the Otomo no Kosibi family.
- 779 - received the junior degree of fifth grade.
- 780 - appointed assistant chief of the palace guard.
- 783 year - appointed assistant commander of troops sent to Hitati province to crush the uprising.
- 791 year - received the junior degree of the fourth grade.
- 794 - declared seiyi-taishogun - "a great commander punishing barbarians", along with Sakanoue no Tamuramaro conducts military operations against the Ezo tribes.
- 795 - was awarded the junior degree of the third class and the Order of Honor of the second degree for military merits.
- June 14 or July 14, 809 - died.
