Golding said that the new album would be more "pop" than her other records. In an interview, she said: "I consider this album to be an experiment, in order to record it, I made a conscious decision, I wanted it to be at a new level of my creativity."

The first single from the record was the song On My Mind , it was released on September 17, 2015. The song received many positive reviews, and also had commercial success on the charts, reaching the top 10 in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK, and also reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 . The song "Army" was released as the 2nd official single from the album on January 9, 2016. The track " Something in the Way You Move ", was released as the third single from the album on January 19, 2016. The song "Lost and Found" was released as a promo on October 9, 2015, respectively, and was available for download along with the pre-order album. The standard edition included the hit Love Me Like You Do , which became one of the soundtracks for the film " 50 shades of gray "

The album received mostly positive reviews from critics. On the service Metacritic album received 70 out of 100 points based on 15 reviews, where 10 of them are positive. Rolling Stone's John Dollan said that "Golding makes full-scale dance pop music," comparing the singer with her friend in the workshop Taylor Swift and her album " 1989 ". Other reviews are more mixed: Pitchfork accused Golding of mediocrity, adding that such music is more suitable for Megan Traynor than Golding, but praised for the ability to still make good dance music. The Verge criticized the album, stating that Golding "is lost in these ruthlessly catchy songs. All of them could have been hits, but only some are similar to Ellie Gould's early hits, which we will recognize."
