Nadezhda Vladimirovna Gilyarovskaya-Lobanova [1] (October 26 (November 7), 1886, Moscow [2] - 1966, ibid [3] ) was the daughter of writer and journalist Vladimir Alekseevich Gilyarovsky , translator and historian of the theater (theatrical-decorative art).

Biography
Born in the marriage of Gilyarovsky to Maria Ivanovna (nee Murzina), she was the second child in the family (brother Alexey died in childhood). She was probably baptized in honor of the mother of the writer Nadezhda Petrovna, née Musatova.
In 1896, the 10-year-old Nadezhda wrote a translation of the London chronicle of sports life. Vladimir Alekseevich published it in his journal and presented it to his daughter with a dedication " [3] . The inscription read: “To my dear employee of the Sports List“ Nadya in memory of her first journal work on October 8, 1896 ”.
She was treated by A.P. Chekhov ; his etude was presented by I. I. Levitan [4] .
At the age of 16, she published the first translation from the French (Muravei magazine, 1901).
In 1904, Nadezhda Gilyarovskaya graduated with the gold medal from the I Moscow Women's High School on Strastnaya Square , in 1908 - from the Moscow Higher Courses for Women V.I. Ger'e on the Devichye Pole . She was one of the first women admitted to listening to lectures at Moscow University (she studied as a volunteer ), attended lectures by professors-philologists S. K. Shambinago , P. N. Sakulin , A. E. Gruzinsky . In 1912 she passed the state exam, graduating from the university with a diploma of the 1st degree [5] . She was offered to stay at the university. EG Kiseleva writes that “She was left at the university to defend a master’s degree and teach the old French language. In the history of the university it was the first time when three women, and among them Nadezhda Vladimirovna, were left at the university. But even the persuasions of Professor Matvey Nikanorovich Rozanov , addressed to his beloved student, did not help - she went into journalism ” [5] .
In 1909, she founded the student’s society “The History of Literature” (transformed in 1911 into a scientific society under the chairmanship of Professor M. N. Speransky ). In the first edition of the works of the society [6] , her scientific research “Passion of the Lord” in Erl was published - about the ideas in the village amateur theaters of Bavaria and Tyrol [7] .
Subsequently, she was an employee of the library of the Russian Historical Museum (from 1911 until the end of the 1930s), where she headed the department of literature and auxiliary disciplines. In 1920-1925 she worked in the Theater Museum: she was the curator of the “ Museum of the Opera Zimin ”, transformed into the Museum of Scenery Painting and connected with the Museum of them. Bakhrushin . In 1923, she organized the first Soviet exhibition of “theatrical-decorative art in five years of revolution”.
In 1913 she married the art critic VM Lobanov (1885–1970), who left memories of Gilyarovsky [8] .
She was buried with her parents and husband at the Novodevichy cemetery .
Creativity
Fluent in three languages: Russian, German and French. She recited and wrote poetry. “Nadezhda Vladimirovna has become a very competent theater critic. But she, like our hero [her father], was cramped in one genre. She wrote about literature, painting and other arts. She often went abroad - in Germany, in France, from where she sent interesting correspondence. She wrote essays about celebrities - Taras Shevchenko , Vladimir Odoyevsky , Vsevolod Garshin , Anna Akhmatova " [9] .
Together with her husband, she entered the group of “neoclassicists”, supporters of “ neoclassicism ” that emerged at the end of 1918 under the All-Russian Union of Poets , but her poems do not appear in the collections of the movement. After the revolution, did not publish their poems.
She was engaged in publishing her father’s books, aided by her husband, who became a prominent art historian . “Spouses Lobanovs carefully preserved the creative heritage of V. A. Gilyarovsky, published a number of his books (“ People of the Theater ”,“ Moscow Newspaper, Stories ”). The apartment of the famous Muscovite in Stoleshnikov Lane was preserved in the form in which Chekhov and other famous friends of the writer knew it - thanks to their efforts [8] .
