He lived all his life in Bergen , and according to contemporaries, his activity greatly influenced the music of Grieg . Thanks to their close friendship since childhood, Beyer became more and more familiar with music, and in 1869 released his first and only collection of Norwegian national songs with a reworked melody. Again, with the help of Grieg, he came out into the world, but thanks to his ability to always make an elephant out of a fly, he was soon forced to distance himself from high society.
In 1870, he met Genevieve de Luxe, a French woman with a higher education, a pianist and a famous singer, who was traveling around Europe at that time. In March of the same year, Franz made her an offer, but Geneviève refused him, because she was in love with his second cousin nephew of cousin Ludwig Doren.
In 1872, Beyer moved to his country house, not far from Bergen , and lived there until 1876 .
In July of this year, having accumulated a certain amount, I went on my first and last trip through Europe . His route consisted of London , Paris , Berlin and other smaller cities. He returned to Bergen only in 1882 .
Soon after, he returned to his country house. Nearby there lived a nine-year-old Angela bon Ryusch, which Beyer recognized as an exceptionally talented and musical girl. And since there were no other music teachers nearby, her parents sent Angela to study with Franz.
The girl was employed by her teacher until 1888 , when her parents recognized the training as sufficient and moved to another city. Beyer himself later admitted that he loved this girl as his own daughter, and the farewell was very hard for him. For two years, Franz worked as a church organist and earned himself a little fame within the town and its environs.
In the winter of 1991, I went to Bergen , rented an apartment there and began to earn money on another trip around Europe , working as a teacher in a small school named after Mozart .
In 1893, he fell ill with pleurisy, but despite the advice of the doctors, he continued to work, as he himself, by his own admission, wanted the money earned by him to be transferred to Angela bon Ryustish. He dreamed that the girl became a talented and popular singer or performer.
In 1896, Franz’s health condition deteriorated sharply, and at the end of August, he nevertheless went to the hospital. September 7 of that year died. The amount he earned while working at the school named after Mozart passed to Angela, who later recalled with gratitude the “sweet, kind, surprisingly sensitive and slightly rustic” teacher. According to his own testament, his ashes were buried in Bergen , in his homeland, and at his funeral he performed the requiem of Mozart , Beyer 's favorite work.
