History
The development of Studio One began in 2006 . Together with PreSonus, work on the new program was carried out by the German company KristalLabs Software, the founders of which were Matias Juvan and Wolfgang Kundrus. The latter previously worked at Steinberg , where he was one of the leading developers of the Cubase and Nuendo packages . Subsequently, KristalLabs teamed up with PreSonus: Kundrus became the CEO of the company, and Juvan became the lead engineer [1] . Other team members: Mike Oppermann and Eike Jonas, are also former Steinberg employees.
Studio One is designed to work on Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows . The program comes in three editions: Prime (initial or free edition) [2] [3] , Artist and Professional . Previously, there was a Producer edition, but with the release of the third version of Studio One, its release was discontinued. Information on each edition and a list of differences between them is available on the official website of the developer.
On May 20, 2015, the third version of the program was released.
On February 25, 2016, version 3.2 was released.
