Biography
He studied in Odessa with Peter Stolyarsky and Alexander Fidelman , where he was heard by Adolf Brodsky , who invited Blinder to continue his studies under the supervision of the Royal Manchester College of Music . After classes in Manchester in 1910 - 1913 . Blinder returned to Russia and in 1913 - 1920 . taught in Odessa , and in 1920 - 1927 . at the Moscow Conservatory ; in the 1920s he also undertook a series of large-scale foreign tours.
In 1928 , after a tour in Japan, Blinder emigrated and initially settled in New York , from 1929 to 1931 . taught at the Juilliard school . Then, at the invitation of Isai Dobrovein, he moved to San Francisco , where in 1932 - 1957 he was the accompanist of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and headed the violin department at the San Francisco Conservatory . Blinder’s brother Boris Samoilovich Blinder (1898-1987), cellist, student of Jacques van Lear and Joseph Salmon , moved to San Francisco after his brother and was accompanist for cellos of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra in 1938-1963.
