Biography
The son of a Prussian national of the Evangelical Lutheran religion. His parents: University Printing Director Friedrich-Wilhelm Klein and Anna Augustina Marx. He graduated from the 3rd Moscow gymnasium and the medical faculty of Moscow University (1876) with a doctor’s degree and the title of county doctor and a silver medal for the composition “dressings for treating bone fractures”.
He participated in the war with Turkey before the official entry of Russia into it; in March 1877 he returned to Moscow and took the post of supernumerary resident of the hospital surgical clinic, which was headed by I.N. Novatsky ; since 1878 - a full-time resident. Since 1880, he - the youngest, and a year later - the senior resident of the New Catherine Hospital .
In May 1895 he defended his thesis "Materials for the etiology and surgery of some forms of pyloric stenosis" for the degree of Doctor of Medicine and in June became a privat-docent at the Department of Hospital Surgical Clinic, Faculty of Medicine, Moscow University; since February 1897 - extraordinary extraordinary professor . He was also a doctor at the Preobrazhensky Almshouse (1889–1894) and director of the Polyclinic named after Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna at the committee "Christian Aid" (1896-1904). He was a consultant at the Sofia Children's Hospital [1] .
He was buried at Vvedensky cemetery [2] .
