Biography
Delyana Dacheva was born on February 25, 1982 in the city of Plovdiv . She began to actively engage in rowing from early childhood, was trained in the local rowing section, and later consisted in the Trakia Sports Club in Plovdiv.
The first serious success at the international level was achieved in 2002, when she came to the main team of the Bulgarian national team and visited the World Championships in the Spanish Seville, from where she brought the bronze dignity award, won together with partner Bonka Pingzhevaya in the standings of two-seater kayaks at a distance of 200 meters - better finish only crews from Spain and Poland. A year later, she performed at the World Championship in the American Gainesville, where, with the same Pingzhevoy, she became the silver medalist in twos at five hundred meters - at the finish they were bypassed by the Hungarian crew of Silvia Szabo and Kinga Bots .
In 2004, Dacheva won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Polish Poznan, taking third place in the standings of kayaks-twos at a distance of 1000 meters. Thanks to a series of successful performances, she won the right to defend the honor of the country at the Summer Olympics in Athens - together with Bonka Pingzhevoy started in twos at five hundred meters, she managed to reach the final stage, but in the decisive race she finished only sixth, not reaching the prize positions. Soon after the end of these competitions, she decided to end her career as a professional athlete, giving way to the young Bulgarian rowers in the national team.
Subsequently, in the period 2008–2009, she worked as a rowing coach in the US women's national team, in particular, led the American team at the 2009 World Championships in Canadian Dartmouth. Later married, now living in the United States, known by the double last name Dachev-Andonov.
