Brits began his professional rugby career in 2002 at the Western Provinces Club, which plays in the Curry Cup . In 2004, he moved to the Golden Lions , and on February 27, 2005 he made his debut in the Super 12 championship for the Cats in the match against the Bulls [1] .

On January 16, 2006, he returned to the club system of the Western Cape , i.e. in Western Provins and Stormers [2] . His debut for the new club came in a match on February 16, 2006, against his former Cats team [3] . Over 4 seasons of performance in Super 14, he spent 51 matches and scored 4 attempts.

May 13, 2009 it was announced the transfer of Schalk to the English club Saracens [4] . September 5, 2009 he played the first match in the championship of England against the London Irish [5] . It was this transition that made it possible for the first time in his career to become a stable player in the main squad of his team, which helped Britons get the title of best player for the Saracens according to the results of the 2009/2010 season [6] .

May 28, 2011 Schalk won the championship of England , defeating the team in the finals of “ Leicester ”, and Brits himself spent all 80 minutes on the field and was named the player of the match [7] . In the same year, he was given a short-term lease to his former Stormers club to participate in the Super Rugby semifinal, instead of the injured Duan Vermeulen [8] .

On May 30, 2015, as part of the “ Saracens ”, he again won the championship of England , defeating the club “ Bat ” 16-28 [9] .

Team Career

The first official match for Springbox , Brits played on June 21, 2008 in a test game with the Italian team, substituting in the 65th minute instead of Bismarck du Plessis [10] . In the same year, he fell into the team’s application for participation in the Three Nations Cup , at which he played two guest meetings with New Zealand [11] and Australia [12] , without noting effective actions.

The following calls to the team took place only in 2012 and 2013 on friendly tours of South Africans in the British Isles , where Schalk appeared four times to replace him.

On August 15, 2015, Brits took part in a test game with the team of Argentina [13] , as a result of which on August 28, 2015 was included in the application for participation in the 2015 World Cup [14] . At the tournament, he managed to hold two matches with Samoa [15] and the USA [16] , and in the first of them he made his first attempt for the national team.
