Frolikov, Alexey Viktorovich

Aleksey Viktorovich Frolov ( Latvian. Aleksejs Froļikovs ; born February 15, 1957 , Moscow , USSR ) is a Soviet and Latvian hockey player, striker, international master of sports of the USSR [1] .

Biography

Alexey Frolikov is a pupil of the Dynamo youth sports school (Moscow), for which he started playing at the age of 11 [2] .

In 1975-1981, Alexey Frolikov played for the Dynamo team (Moscow) , having scored 49 goals in 165 matches of the USSR Championship [1] . During this time, as part of his team, he became a silver medalist three times and once a bronze medalist of the USSR championship [1] . Over the years, his partners in the top three attacks at Dynamo Moscow were Yuri Chichurin , Anatoly Sevidov , Sergey Svetlov and Vladimir Shashov [3] .

As a member of the USSR national team, in December 1978, Frolikov participated in the tournament for the prizes of the Izvestia newspaper , playing in four matches and scoring one goal [4] . He also took part in matches of the junior and youth national teams of the USSR, as part of these teams he was the winner of the European Championship among juniors ( 1976 ) and the youth world championship ( 1976 , 1977 ) [1] .

In 1981-1989, Alexey Frolikov played for the Dynamo team ( Riga ), having scored 142 goals in 370 matches of the USSR Championship [1] [5] . In the 1982/1983 season, Frolikov became the best sniper of the USSR championship , having thrown 38 goals into the gates of his rivals [6] . As part of Dynamo Riga, he once (in 1988) became the silver medalist of the USSR championship [7] [8] , in the same year he became one of the best players of the season [9] . Over the years, Oleg Znarok , Sergey Skosyrev , Vladimir Dudin , Evgeny Semeriak and others [3] [10] were his partners in the top three attacks in Riga Dynamo. By the number of goals in the USSR championships in the history of the Riga club with 142 goals, Frolikov is in second place after Helmut Balderis , who has 266 goals [5] .

Since 1989, for three seasons, Aleksey Frolikov played for the hockey club “Esyat” ( Pori ), in the season 1989/1990 he played in the first and then in the top division ( SM League ) of the Finnish championship. In 1992-1993, he also played for the Finnish club Senters ( Pietarsaari ), who played in the first and second divisions. In the seasons of 1992/1993 and 1994/1995, Frolikov also played for the Pardaugava club (the new name of Riga Dynamo), which played in the International Hockey League (MHL), scoring a total of 10 goals in 67 matches [1] .

In the seasons 1992/1993 and 1993/1994, Aleksey Frolikov played for the Latvian national ice hockey team , playing at the World Championships in groups C (1993) and B (1994) , having scored a total of 12 goals in 14 matches [1] .
