Club career
Johnson began his career playing for the football team at the University of Oregon in the United States . During his studies, he also briefly played for the Cape Cod Crusaders and the Colorado Rapids youth team.
At the MLS 2006 superdraft , Ryan was selected in the third round under the overall 26th number by the Real Salt Lake Club [1] . He played only seven matches for the team, in which he spent 154 minutes on the field, after which in July he was traded to “ Chicago Fire ” for Jack Stewart [2] , but there Johnson played even less - 46 minutes in three matches, and on March 3 In 2007, he was placed on the failure list [3] .
At the end of March 2007, Ryan signed a short-term four-month contract with the Swedish club Ester from Superettan [4] .
In the second half of 2007, he returned to the United States and began playing in the major league showball for the New Jersey Ironman club.
In 2008, San Jose Earthquakes exchanged Johnson's rights to MLS from Chicago Fire for two draft picks [3] . On May 11, in a match against Columbus Crew , Johnson scored his first goal for Earthquakes [5] . As a result of the 2009 season, Ryan was recognized as the MVP of the season in the team and became her top scorer with 11 goals.

On December 12, 2012, Ryan Johnson and Milos Kocic were traded at Portland Timbers for Joe Bendika , the highest peak of the 2013 Super Draft and distribution facilities [9] . On March 10, in a match against Montreal Impact , Ryan scored his first goal for the Lumberjacks. [10]
In 2014, Johnson moved to the Chinese Henan Construction . On March 8, in his match against the Guangzhou Evergrand , he made his debut in the Chinese Super League [11] . On March 22, in a duel against Dalian Airbin , Ryan scored his first goal for Henan [12] .
In early 2015, Johnson moved to the South Korean Seoul E-Land . March 29, in a match against Anyang , he made his debut in the Key League [13] . On August 29, in a duel against Ansan Policy , Ryan scored his first goal for the Seoul club [14] .
In March 2016, Johnson signed a contract with a newcomer club to the North American Football League , Rayo Oks . [15] [16] . May 26, "Rayo OKS" expelled Johnson [17] .
International Career
On April 12, 2006, in a friendly match against the US national team, Johnson made his debut for the Jamaican national team [18] . February 10, 2010 in a duel against the national team of Argentina, he scored his first goal for the national team [19] . In the same year, Ryan helped the team win the Caribbean Cup . At the tournament, he played in matches against the teams of the national team of Guyana [20] , Guadeloupe [21] and Grenada [22] . In a duel against Guadalupe, Johnson scored a goal.
In 2011, as part of the national team, he took part in the CONCACAF Gold Cup . In the tournament, Ryan played in matches against the teams of Grenada [23] , Guatemala [24] , Honduras [25] and the USA [26] . In fights against the Grenadians and Hondurans, Johnson scored two goals.
