Nergor, Cillier

Silje Nergor ( Norwegian Silje Nergaard ; born June 19, 1966 , Steinkier , Norway ) is a Norwegian jazz singer [1] . One of the best-selling jazz artists ever featured on official charts in Norway [2] . She became world famous after the release of the world bestseller Tell Me Where You're Going with the participation of Pat Matini on the guitar [3] .

Sillie appeared on stage at age 16 with her first hit single “Tell Me Where You're Going”, making her No. 1 in Japan , as well as the top 10 in Norway and other countries. At First Light (2001) became the best-selling Norwegian jazz album of all time and entered the official sales chart in Norway with No. 1 for the first week. Album A Thousand True Stories, recorded from the Metropol Orchestra ( Netherlands) in 2008 was a great success in Europe and Asia . Nergor is one of the few Norwegian performers to be commercially successful worldwide, across most continents and major music markets, including Japan, Brazil , Germany , the United States and the United Kingdom .

Sillie Nerghor recorded and performed songs with Al Jarreau , Pat Metheny , Toots Thielemanns , Morten Harket from a-ha and many others.

Unclouded

In spring 2012, Nergaard released her new album, Unclouded, based on recordings with two guitarists Hallgrim Bratberg and Howard Bendixen. It was released on March 9 in Norway and March 23 in the rest of the world. Nergaard wrote 9 new songs for Unclouded and two covers for the album "Human" by The Killers and The Moon's a Harsh Mistress by Jimmy Webb . For recording Unclouded, Sillier invited American guitarist John Scofield to collaborate with Jojje Wadenius, Knut Reiersrud, and Nils Petter Molvær.

Sillier is married to singer Heine Totland .
