In the same year, the Angolan crew won their first medal, becoming the third in the African Championship. In October 2015, the Angolan crew became the second according to the results of the African Olympic qualification in the competition of lightweight twos. This result did not allow athletes to obtain a license to participate in the 2016 Summer Olympics, since only one ticket was played in this discipline. However, according to the FISA rules, according to the results of continental competitions, only one male crew can get a ticket to the Games from one country, then the Egyptian NOC, which won the competitions in both M1x and LM2x, decided in favor of a single man.
