Biography
He entered the service as a freelance soldier in Gare du Cor (royal guard) in 1788, then transferred to artillery in 1789, a junior lieutenant in the 105th Infantry Regiment from March 26, 1792, and in 1793 entered the School of Roads and Bridges as a student.
On December 11, 1799, he became a hussar in the regiment of volunteers of the reserve army, on December 2, 1800 he was promoted to lieutenant of this regiment. After a month and a half, he became captain in a dragoon regiment in the Army of Graubünden. November 4, 1801 enrolled in the expeditionary force sent to San Domingo . On July 29, 1802 he was appointed commandant of Jacquel . December 30, 1802 promoted to squadron commander, and received the post of adjutant General Leclerc . During the assault on the fort, Crete-Piero received a bullet wound in the thigh.
Returning to France, he was appointed to the headquarters of the army of Brest. February 28, 1804 became commander of the 4th district of the coast. March 24, led the squadron in the 1st Horse-Jaeger Regiment of Montbren . Brilliantly conducted the Austrian campaign of 1805 , distinguished himself in many battles. Montbren noted his skillful actions at Haag, on the road to Braunau , where he boldly attacked a convoy of 600 Austrians and Russians, and a horse was killed underneath. On November 10, 1806 he became adjutant to General Udino , on March 30, 1807 he was promoted to colonel of the headquarters, and headed the headquarters of the grenadier division .
He participated in the Austrian campaign of 1809 , on May 22 he was seriously wounded in the battle of Essling, and died of his wounds on July 8, 1809 in Vienna.
