Biography
Born in Gomel on September 20, 1898 . He graduated from the Kiev Medical Institute (1920), after which he worked as an intern doctor in a Kiev hospital. In 1925–1931, he was in charge of the surgical department of a hospital in Korosten . In 1931–1934, he headed the 2nd working hospital in Kiev. During these years he was actively engaged in scientific research, which resulted in a doctoral thesis on thyroid diseases , successfully defended in 1935.
From 1934 he headed the Department of General Surgery of the Vinnitsa Medical Institute (in 1935 he was approved as a professor), and from 1940 he headed the Department of General Surgery of the Kiev Institute of Advanced Medical Studies .
He participated in the Great Patriotic War : chief surgeon of the South-Western Front (July 1941 - March 1942), Crimea, North-Caucasian (June - August 1942), South-Eastern, Stalingrad (September 1942 - January 1943), South and 1st Baltic fronts (October 1943 - May 1945).
In 1945, he was the chief surgeon of the Baltic Military District and head of the department of operative surgery at the University of Riga.
In the years 1946-1950 - Head of the Department of Oncology, Kharkov Institute of Advanced Medical . In 1950-1969 - Head of the Department of Surgical Diseases of the Poltava Medical Dental Institute .
He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner , the Order of the Patriotic War, I and II degree, the Order of the Red Star and many medals.
He died in Kharkov on July 6, 1969 .
