Starting his career at the Charlton Athletic Academy, he moved to Grimsby Town in 2001, after being listed in the Bristol Rovers and Redbridge until he moved to the Scottish Kilmarnock , where he played for six seasons. In 2010, Ford moved to Chesterfield . Two years later, he returned to Grimsby Town, but played only two games for him and was leased to Telford United . After the expiration of the contract with Grimsby Town remains a free agent. He also played three friendlies for the Jamaican national team .

Club career
Charlton Athletic
Ford began his career at Charlton Athletic under the leadership of Alan Curbisley and was transferred to the club’s main team in the 2000/01 season. However, he could not prove himself and was forced to leave the club in the summer of 2001, without having played a single match for Charlton.
Grimsby Town
After leaving Charlton, Ford signed a contract with Grimsby Town manager Lenny Lawrence. Ford made his professional football debut on August 21, 2001 in a 2–1 victory game for his team against Lincoln City in the first round of the Football League Cup, substituting in the 79th minute. On December 22, 2001, he played his first match in Ligue 1 in a 0-0 draw against Preston North End and came out in the first team. The following week, December 29, 2001, Ford scored his first goal for Grimsby, pushing his team ahead 2-1 in the match against Portsmouth [2] . In total, in the first season for Gimsby Town, Ford played 16 matches.
At the beginning of the 2002/03 season, Ford received the support of the new manager, Paul Groves, and was fixed in the first team due to Steve Chettle's injury in the preseason mast. Ford paired with Georges Santos won 40 matches in the season. Despite the fact that the club’s performances were not impressive, the club flew to Ligue 2 , Ford attracted the attention of such clubs as Bradford City and Wolverhampton Wanderers [3] . But the transfer did not take place. During the 2003/04 season, Ford played a little, the coaches relied on other defenders - Tony Crane and Mike Edwards.
Despite a good performance in the previous season, in the summer of 2004 Grimsby Town did not renew Ford's expired contract, and the player left the club.
Bristol Rovers and Redbridge
Ford joined Bristol Rovers [4] without concluding a contract before the start of the 2004/05 season, but manager Jan Atkins refused his services and Ford left the club’s location and didn’t play a match for him in two weeks of training.
After a brief stay in Bristol, Ford signed a professional contract with the South Conference Club Redbridge , which played three levels lower than Grimsby Town. Ford played only one match for this club before he moved to the Scottish Kilmarnock , the Scottish Premier League club.
Kilmarnock
Kilmarnock offered Ford an amateur contract [5] , as he still had his professional contract with Redbridge [6] . On December 27, 2004, Ford won a 3-1 victory against Dundee United , putting his head under the canopy of Harry Hay from the penalty area [7] . In January 2005, he signed a professional contract with the club.
Since October 2004, Ford has been a Kilmarnock base player, but in March 2005 it was announced that he would undergo a double hernia removal operation, which meant the end of the season ahead of schedule [8] .
October 15, 2005 Ford with a pass Gozabil the first goal in the 7th minute in a lost match 4-2 with “ Hibernian ”, after a pass by Gordon Greer [9] . Ford missed the next two games due to an injury, but on October 29, 2005, with a score of 1-1 against Aberdeen , Ford managed to finish the ball after Chris Boyd hit, and Kilmarnock eventually won 4-2 [10] .
In April 2006, Ford injured his knee ligaments and dropped out for 4 months. Assistant manager Billy Brown said: "This is a serious blow for the player and the club. It was amazing." Ford had to undergo surgery in the summer, but had to wait until the knee healed [11] . In the end, he returned to the field only in October 2006.
In total for the Scottish club, Ford played 144 games in six years and scored six times.
Chesterfield
Ford signed a contract with Chesterfield as a free agent in June 2010, and at first successfully replaced Kevin Austin, who left the club [12] . On August 21, 2010, he scored the 4th goal in the 62nd minute in a 4-0 victory match with Hereford United : Danny Whitaker scored a corner, and Ford headed the ball into the goal [13] .
Ford was part of a team that beat Swindon Town 2–0 in the League Cup final in the 2011/12 season on March 25, 2012 and even hit the crossbar in the 8th minute, striker Jack Lester finished the ball but was flagged for offside [ 14] .
Ford left the club at the end of the 2011/12 season [15] .
Return to Grimsby Town
30-year-old Ford returned to Grimsby Town on July 28, 2012 to watch and played a friendly match in the offseason against Barton Town Old Boys [16] . Three days later, he signed a one-year contract. [17] On February 27, 2013, Ford, who managed to supplant Sean Pearson, Ian Miller and Nathan Pond from the base, was leased to the Telford United National Conference Club until the end of the 2012/13 season [18] .
Ford was recalled to Grimsby on April 10, 2013 after injuring Sean Pearson and Ian Miller. He played 6 matches for Telford [19] . Ford made his second debut for the “sailors” in a 1-1 draw with Luton Town on April 12, 2013. Ford played another match in the unsuccessful playoff series for Grimsby. On May 2, 2013, Ford’s contract with the Grimsby expired [20] .
International Career
Ford represented Jamaica in three friendly matches against Trinidad and Tobago , Saint Vincent and Grenada. [21]
