Greco-Roman wrestling competitions in the framework of the Olympic Games in 1920 in heavy weight (over 82.5 kilograms) were held in Antwerp from July 16 to 20, 1920 in the Celebration Hall of the Royal Zoological Society.

The battle according to the tournament regulations lasted two rounds of 10 minutes each, and if none of the wrestlers touched the opponent during these rounds, an additional round of 20 minutes was appointed, and after it (or during it) the victory was awarded by decision of the judges. In some cases, another additional round, lasting 10 minutes, could be assigned to identify the winner. However, after the first day of the competition, the organizers came to the conclusion that with such a system they would not have time to conduct the competition, and the time of the fight was reduced to one 10-minute round, in which it was possible to win only on the carcass and a 15-minute additional round, after which the victory was given by decision of the judges.

The tournament was held according to the Bergwal system . The title was played between 19 wrestlers.

Given the fact that, because of the First World War, competitions were not held for a long time, it was difficult to call someone a clear favorite of the tournament. Hypothetically, among the applicants considered, Anders Algren was the silver medalist of the games held in 1912 and the world champion in 1913, but light heavyweight and Adolf Lindfors , who was a fairly strong participant in the games of 1912 and the silver medalist of the 1911 world championship. Lindfors won the gold medal, winning purely in five of five meetings, defeating Algren in the final. Algren did not fight for silver, and Paul Hansen , the 1919 Nordic champion who lost to Lindfors in the semifinals, took second place. Martti Nieminen remained in third place.
