Lorenz Hart ( Eng. Lorenz Hart ; May 2, 1895 - November 22, 1943 ) is an American songwriter and librettist , known for his collaboration with composer Richard Rogers . Over 25 years of collaboration, they wrote more than a thousand songs [1] .

In the 1920s and 1930s, the musicals of Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart rattled on Broadway , having a great influence on the sound of the musical theater of that time [2] . In addition, in the first half of the 1930s, they worked on several successful music films. (When musicals became less profitable during the Great Depression , Rogers and Hart moved to Hollywood for several years.) [2]
He is the author of the words of such famous songs as “ My Funny Valentine ” [3] , “ The Lady Is a Tramp ” [1] and “ Blue Moon ” [4] .
In 1970, Lorenz Hart was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame [5] .
