Chekmen is a village in the Sverdlovsk region in the Kushvinsky urban district of Russia . The village is located near the Middle Ural Range in the middle of the Ural taiga on the left bank of the Tura River, near its source, located northwest of Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Tagil and west of the center of the okrug of Kushva . The village was founded in 1878 during the construction of the railway.

The village of Chekmen is located near the railway, at the Nizhny Tagil - Kachkanar and Nizhny Tagil - Chusovoy junction. There are stopping points on both ways: Chekmen station (on the Kachkanar direction) and the Vaganovka site (on the Chusovsky direction). At the Chekmen station, the Kachkanar - Nizhny Tagil electric train stops, at Vaganovka - Chusovskaya - Nizhny Tagil .
All residential buildings of the village of Chekmen are located along the station. The Vaganovka stop is a short distance away.
There is no infrastructure and industry in the village. A small population is employed in the maintenance of the railway.
