Galfingue ( fr. Galfingue ) is a commune in the northeast of France in the Grand Est region ^[1] (former Alsace - Champagne - Ardennes - Lorraine ), department of the Upper Rhine , Mulhouse district , canton of Kingersheim ^[2] . Until March 2015, the commune was administratively part of the abolished canton of Mulhouse-Sud (Mulhouse district).

The area of the commune is 5.36 km², the population is 767 people ^[3] ^[4] (2006) with an upward trend: 792 people ^[5] (2012), the population density is 147.8 people / km².

Economics

In 2010, out of 517 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years), 404 were economically active , 113 inactive (activity indicator 78.1%, in 1999 - 69.3%). Of the 404 active able-bodied residents, 390 people worked (215 men and 175 women), 14 were unemployed (6 men and 8 women). Among 113 able-bodied inactive citizens, 34 were pupils or students , 52 - pensioners , and another 27 - were inactive due to other reasons ^[8] ^[9] .
