Zoo Apocalypse , or The Menagerie ( Zoo ), is an American drama television series based on the 2012 by James Patterson and Michael Ledwich. The premiere of the show, designed by Josh Appelbaum , Andre German , Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg , took place on June 30, 2015 on CBS [1] .

Story
Cruel animal attacks on humans are occurring all over the world. Jackson Oz, an American zoologist, his Kenyan friend Abraham, a safari guide, as well as a Los Angeles reporter, a dodgy pathologist veterinarian and a French intelligence agent, are eager to find out the causes of the mysterious pandemic as attacks become more organized and ferocious.

Production
In October 2013, it was announced that CBS had ordered a pilot episode of The Menagerie [3] . In July 2014, the channel gave the green light to the production of the first season of the show of thirteen episodes for showing in the summer [4] .
On October 2, 2015, the series was extended for the second season, the two-hour premiere of which took place on June 28, 2016 [5] . On August 10, CBS extended the series for a third season [6] .
Casting
James Walk was the first actor to receive a role in the series in November 2014 [7] . In the same month, it was announced that Nora Arnezeder [8] and Nonso Anosi [9] joined the main roster . In January 2015, Kristen Connolly and Billy Burke became the last actors to receive major roles in the show [10] . In February 2015, Joff Stulz received a minor role for the story arch in several episodes [11] . In March, Karl Lambly also received a periodic role [12] .
Filming
Filming of the series began in New Orleans in January 2015 [13] .
