Biography
Born in the Courland province of the Russian Empire (now the Livberz parish of the Jelgava region of Latvia ). In 1914, the family moved to Moscow, in 1917, after illness and the death of his father, returned to Latvia. In 1928 she graduated from the classical gymnasium in Riga.
After the end of World War II, she worked at the Riga film studio , as a senior editor (1947-1948), later as a translator of texts, was engaged in dubbing films.
In 1957, she first visited the Crimea . For several years she came here until in the mid-1960s she settled in Glidersky ( Koktebel ), where she lived until 1978.
Creativity
She made her debut as a poet in 1926. The first story, Youth, was published in the journal Zeltene in 1928.
In 1938, her first collection of short stories, “His Majesty and the Monkey,” was published, later the collections “The River Comes Out of the Bank” and “Burning Letters” (M .: Soviet Writer, 1967) were published.
From 1957 to 1965 she wrote 6 books for children and adults: “Upe izkāpj no krastiem” (1957), “Visskaistākais dārzs” (1960), “Pie durvīm klauvē” (1961), “Vilkumigas iekarotājs” (1963), “Degošieie” raksti "(1963) and" Tracis ap Valentīnu "(1965).
