Bretenbach-O-Ren ( French: Breitenbach-Haut-Rhin ) - a commune in the north-east of France in the Grand Est region ^[1] (former Alsace - Champagne - Ardenne - Lorraine ), Department of the Upper Rhine , District Colmar - Riboville , canton Winsenheim ^[2] . Until March 2015, the commune was administratively part of the abolished canton of Munster ( Colmar County).

The area of the commune is 9.37 km², the population is 885 people ^[3] ^[4] (2006) with a tendency to stabilize: 848 people ^[5] (2012), the population density is 90.5 people / km².

Economics

In 2010, out of 572 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years), 437 were economically active , 135 inactive (activity indicator 76.4%, in 1999 - 69.3%). Of the 437 active able-bodied residents, 395 people worked (220 men and 175 women), 42 were unemployed (22 men and 20 women). Among 135 able-bodied inactive citizens, 46 were pupils or students , 50 were pensioners , and another 39 were inactive for other reasons ^[8] ^[9] .
