History
The county was formed in 1867 as part of the Lomzhinsky province of the Russian Empire . In 1919, it was transformed into Kolnensky County of the Bialystok Voivodeship of Poland .

According to the census of 1897, the population of the county was 73,686 people, including 4891 inhabitants in the city of Kolno [1] .
