He participated in the Great Patriotic War, was a signalman. After the war, he graduated from the Pedagogical Institute in Orenburg (Faculty of History) [1] .

He worked in the newspaper of the Orenburg military district, since 1958 - in Ufa, where he worked as deputy chief editor of the newspaper Leninets . RG Nazirov , who worked in a newspaper in the 1960s, describes Halperin as “an active, energetic, agile, but very limited and stubborn person” [2] .

Being the executive secretary of the Republican Union of Journalists [3] organized exhibitions of Bashkir photo correspondents; the exhibition "Bashpressfoto-2015" was dedicated to his memory [4] .

He was a strong player in checkers, one of the organizers of drafts in the republic [5] .

Family

  • Father, Samuil Efimovich (Shmil Khaimovich) Halperin, worked as an accountant; mother, Pesya (Fields) Davidovna Rabinovich, came from the town of Teplik . My mother’s brother, a military engineer of the 1st rank, Yakov Davidovich Rabinovich (1900-1937), the head of the building and apartment department of the Leningrad Military District, was shot in 1937.
  • Son - journalist Joseph Davidovich Halperin (born 1950) [6] .
