History
The group was founded in 1993-94 by members of the Leningrad Rock Club Sergey Bykov (a member of the Mail group [1] , who in the 80s played joint apartmentmates with Mike Naumenko and Viktor Tsoi [2] ) and Nail Kadyrov ( Cinema , Zoo , Various People ) [3] [4] . Peter Troshchenkov ( Aquarium , Picnic ) [5] and Sergey Ryzhenko ( Time Machine , DDT , Bravo ) [6] also took part in the work of the team.
Andrei Tropillo called the Reserve a continuation of the Zoo [6] . For continuation of the tradition, the leader of the Reserve, Sergei Bykov, was presented with a guitar by Mike Naumenko [7] .
In the 1990s, the group performs on the Old Arbat and becomes one of the local attractions [8] . In the 97th, Alexey Ionov (who used to play with Bykov in the Post ) comes to the team [9] . Since the end of the 90s, without stopping the usual speeches, the group revives the tradition of home stand [10] . Together with Oleg Kovriga and Sergey Letov , Bykov, as an eyewitness and participant, is interviewed about the phenomenon of apartment concerts [11] .
In 2001, the Bulls began to play the bass guitar in the Merry Pictures [12] .
In 2002, recorded a joint album of the Reserve and Umka [13] [14] [15] .
In 2005, the Reserve, along with the teams Chayf , DDT , Aquarium , Secret, and others. Participates in the recording of the disc "Mike - 50. Mike Naumenko's Birthday" [16]
In 2006, the record company “Nikitin” released the Reserve CD in the series “Catch the Mood of Rock-N-Roll” [17] . In a review of him, A. I. Mazhaev , a music critic of Play magazine, wrote that the Reserve had gone by car in time [18] .
After the death of Bykov in 2013, the Reserve, attracting famous musicians, records unreleased songs and makes memorable concerts [19] [20] [6] .
Facts
- On one of the performances of the Reserve was Armen Grigoryan . Listening to the band, he said: "They play Mike better than anyone ... including us." After that, the Reserve was invited to “warm up” the Crematorium . However, the tandem did not exist for a long time [21] .
- One of the band members composed a literary work “Life in the Preserve”, where he described the behind-the-scenes life of musicians, but later, for unknown reasons, removed it from the network [22] .
Children of the "Reserve"
Although the Reserve did not often receive media attention, its musicians moved to more famous groups: Oleg Masaev - in Casual [23] , Yevgeny Nikonov - in Mongol Shuudan [24] , George Hentschel in Red Mold [25] , and Lev Kuznetsov - in Arbenin [26] .
In March 2016, the festival “Children of the Reserve” took place in Moscow, where the Reserve itself performed as a supergroup [27] .
