Theater History
The new Theater was created on February 25, 2012 by the former director of the VIE Municipal Theater V. Lebedev and made his debut with the play “The Thirteenth Apostle” (based on the early lyrics of Vladimir Mayakovsky). The premiere took place on the day of the 125th anniversary of the famous Ukrainian film director and innovator Les Kurbas and was a success. It was not for nothing that fate linked the New Theater with the name of Les Kurbas. After receiving an academic education in Europe, Kurbas came to Ukraine with the goal of creating a lively, poetic theater in a new artistic manner. Just according to the theater system, Kurbasa defended her diploma as a director-master of the University. Karpenko-Kary artistic director of the New Theater Svetlana Lebedeva.

New Theater Manifest
The New Theater is a temple of art, a scientific laboratory for the study of human souls, and a moral, spiritual department of society. And the New Theater is a Holiday. We see in the theater a way and a way of spiritual development of a person. Theater - a synthesis of all existing opportunities for self-improvement of a person and the development of his three hypostases: body, soul and spirit. The modern theater is gradually freed from the experience of being in a single tradition, it should be enriched with new knowledge, new aesthetics. The language of the theater should become richer and more diverse. Today, the theater, in its best examples, seeks to synthesize new trends in art in intellectual prose, philosophy, poetry, borrows in its internal work the vast spiritual experience of the East. The theater today can rely not only on the existing knowledge systems of recognized theater masters: K. Stanislavsky and M. Chekhov , V. Meyerhold and L. Kurbas, E. Grotovsky and A. Vasiliev , but also on the ancient spiritual knowledge and practices of the East and Christianity. The new Theater is a conversation about a Man with all her amazing abilities, which the actors are trying to demonstrate to the viewer in order to wake him from his usual everyday sleep.
Theater today

Today the theater team consists of professional actors, and theater productions have repeatedly received awards, prizes and prizes at many theater festivals. The productions are often attended by young graduates of Zaporizhzhya National University. In 2013, the New Theater became a laureate of the international theater festival "Theater. Chekhov. Yalta" with the play "MEDEYA" based on a play by Lyudmila Rozumovskaya. In October 2015, the premiere of the patriotic sound-and-drama “City Z: Keepers” took place , in which for the first time in the theatrical art of Ukraine an attempt was made to analyze the tragic events of 2014-2015. In 2016, the play "City Z: Keepers" was presented in the competition program of the first All-Ukrainian theater festival of the Patriotic Theater "Peacemaker" in the city of Dnipro.
