Biography
Georg Gaffky was born on February 17, 1850. From 1904 to 1918 he headed the Institute for Infectious Diseases in Berlin .
He died on November 23, 1918 in Berlin.
Scientific Works
The main scientific works are devoted to infectious diseases.
- 1883 - Participated in expeditions to India and Egypt for the study of cholera and the fight against this disease.
- 1884 - For the first time, isolated pure cultures of typhoid bacilli and described it in detail.
- 1887 - Lead an expedition to study the plague in India.
- Developed issues of bacteriological technology.
