Biography

Born November 6, 1910 in a poor peasant family in the village of Salbiar, Tiflis province. Later, his family moved to Tiflis, where his father settled in a railway depot. In 1916, his father died and Vladimir Goloyev returned with his mother to his native village. Due to the difficult financial situation of the family, he was forced to engage in shepherding. In 1924 he went to the first class of his native village.

In 1927 he entered two-year teacher training courses, after which he taught in his native village. Since that time, he became a rural correspondent for The Peasant Newspaper in Moscow. In 1931 he moved to Moscow, where he was received by the correspondent of the editorial office of the "Peasant newspaper". From the same year he began to study at the Higher Courses of Journalism under the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks. During his work at the Peasant Newspaper, he made numerous business trips throughout the USSR and published his reports on the newspaper.

In 1935 he returned to South Ossetia. He held various positions in the press and broadcasting bodies of South Ossetia, was the head of the village department of the newspaper Kommunist. In 1937 he was appointed editor of the Leningorsk regional newspaper. From 1944 to 1949 he was the head of the broadcasting committee of South Ossetia and the editor of the regional newspaper Kommunist. Later for many years he was the director of the Tskhinvali book publishing house. He was the editor of the newspaper Dzau and a member of the editorial board of the literary magazine Fidiug. He wrote articles in the newspaper “Communist” [1] and the Georgian newspaper “Dawn of the East”.

On February 11, 1959 he was elected at the regional conference of journalists of South Ossetia, at which Vladimir Goloyev was elected executive secretary [2] .

His first story, Property, was published in the journal Our Achievements , whose editor-in-chief was Maxim Gorky. Mostly wrote short stories. The largest and most famous of his literary works was the story “Khæsty tymygy” (In the storms of war). In 1952, he published his first storybook “Nog Khur” (The New Sun).

He died in 1975 in Tskhinval.
