History

The Research Institute of Radar Systems "Quantum Radar" was created as a result of the reorganization of the Kiev Research Institute "Quantum" .

In August 1997, the Research Institute "Quantum Radar" was included in the list of enterprises of strategic importance for the economy and security of Ukraine [3] .

In April 1998, in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the research institute was transferred to the Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine [4] .

On July 12, 1999, the research institute was granted the status of special exporter [5]

By the beginning of the 2000s, the research institute had developed a complete set of working design documentation for the new positive three-coordinate radar station with a phased array "Positive-ME1". The radar was designed by order of the Russian OJSC “Kaluga Instrument-Making Plant“ Typhoon ”, at which its production for export was mastered [6] .

In 2006, the Scientific Research Institute "Quantum Radar" completed the tests of the automated solid-state two-coordinate radar station "Delta-M" circular view with a detection range of 100 km. In 2007, a batch of radars of this type was manufactured and exported [7] (in 2011, Delta-M was adopted by Ukraine, but until 2015 it was not installed on the ships of the Ukrainian Navy) [8] .

As of the beginning of 2008, the main products of the research institute were: ship three-coordinate radar stations for the detection and tracking of air and surface targets "Positive-ME1", "Positive-ME1.2", "Positive-U"; Morena shipborne multifunctional radar target designation system (Mineral-E type); fire control system "Tandem" [1] .

After the creation of the state concern " Ukroboronprom " in December 2010, the research institute was included in the group.

In February 2014, at the DEFEXPO India-2014 armament exhibition held in India, the Quantum Radar Research Institute first introduced the Delta circular coordinate solid-state radar station [9] [10] .

On September 24–27, 2014, at the Zbroy and Bezpeka-2014 armament exhibition held in Kiev, the Kvant-Radar Research Institute presented the Triad complex (an optical-electronic fire control system for armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles) and a two-coordinate circular solid-state radar station Rosa survey, designed to monitor ground, air and surface conditions [11] .
