“ In the Desert of Death ” ( English Into the Badlands ) is an American television series that premiered on November 15, 2015 on the AMC channel [2] . The series tells the story of a warrior and a boy who travel through dangerous lands in search of enlightenment [3] . On March 8, 2016, AMC extended the series for a second season [4] , which premiered on March 19, 2017. On April 25, 2017, the series was extended for the third season of 16 episodes [5] .

Content
Production
"In the Desert of Death", described as a "genre television series about martial arts", is based on the classic Chinese fairy tale " Journey to the West ." AMC ordered six one-hour action drama episodes from AMC Networks for a premiere at the end of 2015. [7] Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda composed the title track [8] . Executive producer Stephen Fang also serves as the director of the series along with the Hong Kong choreographer, Ku Huang-Chiu [9] .
