Morant Cays [1] is a group of islands in the Caribbean under the jurisdiction of Jamaica .

Geography
Located southeast of the island of Jamaica [1] , 51 km from the city of Morant Bay . They consist of 4 islets: Northern (6.8 ha), North-western (1.2 ha), South-western (6.2 ha) and Southeast (1.8 ha). The islands are low, not inhabited, the nearby waters are covered with reefs. Visited seasonally by fishermen who collect guano and bird eggs. The island has poor flora, among the fauna, in addition to birds, there are sea turtles. The islands are under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of Jamaica. There are several buildings on the archipelago, reservoirs for storing fresh water and a lighthouse. Tides temporarily change the coastlines of the islands.
History
The island was annexed to Great Britain in 1862, and to Jamaica in 1882.
