Statute
Established in 1953 with the aim of rewarding military personnel who have achieved excellent success in fulfilling military duty.
Also, the most distinguished military units and military educational institutions, as well as civilians, could be awarded for outstanding services in strengthening the country's defense.

Description
Type 1
The sign of an oval blue enamel in the center with the state emblem in colored enamels of the sample of 1949 . From the emblem in the edge of the sign the golden suns rays diverge. The edges of the sign are closed with a wreath of wheat ears, at the base of which the colors of the national flag are intertwined with a ribbon. The upper part of the sign covers the developing banner of the Hungarian People's Army in colored enamels: a red cloth with a border in the form of triangles of green and white.
A badge with a ring at the top of the badge is attached to the sash, folded with a triangle.
Type 2
The badge of the Order is a banner of the Hungarian People's Army in colored enamels: a red cloth with a border in the form of green and white triangles, superimposed on a golden laurel wreath. At the base of the wreath is the image of the state emblem in colored enamels of the sample of 1949.
A sign with a ring at the top of the wreath is attached to the order ribbon, folded with a triangle.
Type 3
The badge of the Order is a banner of the Hungarian People's Army in colored enamels: a red cloth with a border in the form of green and white triangles, superimposed on a golden laurel wreath. At the base of the wreath is an image of the State Emblem in 1957 enamels.
A sign with a ring at the top of the wreath is attached to the order ribbon, folded with a triangle.
Ribbon
The ribbon of the order of all types is red moire with three stripes in the center: red, white, green, burdened with thin white stripes along the edges.
