Geography
The village of Leonikha is located in the north-east of the Moscow region, in the western part of the urban district Losino-Petrovsky, about 17 km northeast of the Moscow ring road and 6 km southeast of the same name railway station of the city of Shchelkovo (on the roads - about 7 km) [10] [11] .
2 km to the north of the village is Shchelkovskoe highway A103 , 2 km to the northeast - Moninskoye highway P109 , 8 km to the south - Gorky highway M7 ; less than 1 km to the west - the paths of the chord line Mytishchi - Fryazevo of the Yaroslavl direction of the Moscow railway . The nearest settlements are the villages of Biokombinat and Star City , the nearest railway station is the platform of Bahchivanji .
There are 14 streets in the village, the territory of a summer house-building cooperative (DSK) and 7 gardening associations (SNT) are attributed [12] .
It is connected by bus with the city of Moscow [13] .
History
In the middle of the XIX century, it belonged to the 2nd camp of the Bogorodsky district of the Moscow province and belonged to the secret adviser Sergei Stepanovich Lansky . In the village there were 8 households, peasants 27 male souls and 18 female souls [3] .
In the “List of Populated Places” of 1862 - the owner’s village of the 2nd camp of the Bogorodsky district of the Moscow province on the right side of the Stromynsky tract (from Moscow to Kirzhach ), 21 versts from the county town and 2 versts from the flat, at the well, with 12 yards and 117 residents (56 men, 61 women) [4] .
According to 1869, there is the village of the Oseyevsky volost of the 3rd camp of the Bogorodsky district with 21 courtyards, 19 wooden houses and 94 inhabitants (40 men, 54 women), of which 1 is literate. There were 8 horses, 5 units of cattle and 3 units of small livestock [5] .
In 1913 - 18 yards [14] .
According to the materials of the 1926 All-Union population census , the village of Zharkovsky village council of the Shchelkovsky volost of the Moscow district , 2.5 km from the Stromynskoye highway and 3 km from the Monino station of the Northern railway, 90 residents lived (46 men, 44 women), there were 16 peasant farms [7 ] .
Since 1929 - a settlement of the Moscow region consisting of:

The cemetery of the village is known, where many members of the cosmonaut corps of the USSR and Russia are buried, as well as test pilots.
