Non-spawning ramps [1] lat. Anacanthobatidae - a family of poorly studied stingrays of the order of stingrays. These are cartilaginous fish leading the bottom lifestyle, with large, flattened pectoral fins in the form of a semicircle and a protruding snout with a threadlike outgrowth. The skin is devoid of scales. Dorsal fins absent [2] . On the ventral side of the disc are 5 gill slits, nostrils and mouth. A thin tail is shorter than the disk [3] . They live in the subtropical and tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region and the Atlantic Ocean. They are found both in shallow water and at a depth of up to 1725 m [4] . Maximum recorded length 91 cm.
