Gutman, Abram Efimovich

Abram Efimovich Gutman (the initial patronymic of Khaimovich ; pseudonym A. Orshanin ; c. 1872, Orsha - 1947 , Moscow [1] ) - a scientist in the field of metal science, gas and electric welding, a poet, and a literary critic.

Biography

He graduated from high school in Orsha (1890). He received an engineering education in Germany [2] .

In 1925-1941, he was a professor at the Promacademy and the Institute of Correspondence Advanced Training of Engineers, Technicians and Business Executives at the All-Union Council of Scientific Engineering and Technical Societies (IZTO VSNITO); At the same time he worked as an engineer on the board of the State Institute for the Design of Engineering and Metalworking Plants "Gipromash".

During the Great Patriotic War - in evacuation in Kirov , he worked as an engineer at a metallurgical plant [3] [4] .

Literary reviews and criticisms before the revolution were published under the pseudonym “A. Orshanin ”in the newspaper“ Russian Thought ” [5] . 140 poems were included in A. Orshanin’s only collection, “Impressions of Being” (1914). Another collection “Orphic Way” (with the subtitle “Lyric Diary”, 1932) remained unpublished [6] . He was associated with a circle of ego-futurists.

The cantata "Kadish" for the soloist, choir and orchestra on verses by A. Orshanin was written by composer Alexander Krein (1922, clavier published in 1928), especially for productions of the Moscow theaters of Gabim and GOSET [7] [8] . A. A. Crane also created romances for verses by A. Orshanin (including “My Love”, 1922) [9] . The author of the poems "Lenin" (1940-1942) and "Tanya" about Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya (the first version was published in the newspaper "Kirovskaya Pravda" in 1943 under the name "Partisan Tanya").
