Cap Cors ( Cap Corse ) is one of the 22 cantons of the Upper Corsica department, Corsica region, France . INSEE canton code is 2B08. 20 Cap Cors communes are located in Bastia County , 2 communes in Calvi County [2] . The canton was created in 2015 and named Cap Corse, as it includes communes on the peninsula of the same name .

Content
History
According to the law of May 17, 2013 and the decree of February 14, 2014, the number of cantons in the Upper Corsica department decreased from 30 to 15. The new territorial division of the departments into cantons entered into force during the 2015 elections. Thus, the canton of Cap Corse was formed on March 22, 2015. It was formed from the former cantons of Capobianco (10 communes), Sagro di Santa Giulia (8 communes), partly San Martino di Lota (2 communes), La Conca d'Oro (2 communes) [3 ] [4] .

Policy
According to the law of May 17, 2013 [3], voters of each canton elect two members of the general council of a department of different sexes during the election. They are elected for 6 years by a majority of votes based on the results of one or two rounds of elections [6] .
In the first round of the cantonal elections on March 22, 2015, 4 pairs of candidates ran for Cap Corse (turnout was 64.34%). In the second round on March 29, Francois Orlandi and Sylvie Retali-Andreani were elected with the support of 52.04% for 2015-2021. The turnout for the elections was 74.59% [7] .
