Metekhi ( Georgian მეტეხი ) is a village in eastern Georgia in the Caspian municipality of Shida-Kartli region . The village is located on the banks of the Kura River , 10 km from the city of Kaspi , at an altitude of 560 meters above sea level. According to the 2014 census, the village population is 2105 people, of which 1025 are men and 1080 women [1] . 99.2% are ethnic Georgians [2] . People on the site of the village lived in the Bronze Age . In the village is the church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary built in the XII - XIII centuries .
